Status Page Department Meaning


All Status Tags are used to communicate to other departments their position on a given job. You will note that none of these tags signifies an end to a job except for Accounting's Complete. All departments should continue to monitor and participate in all open jobs until they are complete.

Accounting Department

Pending Pending generally means this order has not been address by this department. It is the default tag when a Work Order is originated. Pending can also mean: the department is waiting for further information so that it can make a reasonable determination. In this case, some explanation should accompany this tag.
Approved Approved means that this department has reviewed this Work Order and agrees to comply with it's requirements. The department is stating they have all that they need, or feel confident that they will have all that they need, and hereby give their approval to start a job. That is: to order parts, start work on the job, and to commit company resources toward the completion of the job.
Stalled This tag means: Accounting has stopped processing the referenced job at this time. Some accounting problem has developed. This tag should accompany some explanation. Departments should not commit resources toward this job until it is Approved. It should not be necessary to use this tag after a job is started. If this tag is used by Accounting after a job is started, departments should determine the cost effectiveness of stopping and then possibly restarting this job.
Denied Do not spend company resources on this Job. Accounting feels that this job is to great a risk or that the department does not have resources sufficient to complete this job. A reason should be given as to why a job is denied. It can be a customer condemning tag and will almost never be used.
Complete Accounting has completed their portion of this job. The paper work is complete and ready to be mailed or picked up along with the product.

Inventory

Pending Pending generally means this order has not been address by this department. It is the default tag when an Work Order is originated.
Approved Approved means that this department has reviewed this Work Order and agrees to comply with it's requirements.
Partial Some of the material required is in-house. This is useful if a job can be started with the material on-hand.
Waiting Inventory has requested the required items for this job and is waiting for their arrival.
In-house All required items (material, supplies etc.) are in-house and ready for use.
Out
Sourced
This tag is used when items are sent to an outside vendor for work to be performed. Some explanation should accompany this tag as to where the items where sent or what kind of service is to be performed.

Production Department

PendingPending generally means this order has not been address by this department. It is the default tag when an Work Order is originated.
Approved This department has reviewed this Work Order and agrees to comply with it's requirements: Due Date, etc.
StalledIf production tags a job as stalled, it means all production work for the referenced Work Order has been ordered to stop by the production personnel. Some explanation should accompany this tag.
Denied Production has reviewed this Work Order and has determined the job is not within the scope of it's capabilities or the job poses un-attainable requirements.
In process The Work Order is being addressed. The work required by the Work Order is being performed. The product or service is in process.
CompletedCompleted means: that the referenced Work Order is complete and that accounting has been notified for billing purposes.

Gate Keeper

Off board
Pending or Off Board generally means this order has not been address by this department. It is the default tag when a Work Order is originated. Pending can also mean: the department is waiting for further information so that it can make a reasonable determination as to the effectiveness of this job. In this case, some explanation should accompany this tag.
Normal
Approved
This department has reviewed this Work Order and has determined that successful completion of this job can be accomplished under normal operational procedures, and its commencement is approved. The status board will display "Approved."
Stalled If Gate Keeper tags a job as stalled, it means all work for the referenced Work Order should be stopped. Perhaps some problem exist with the job specifications. Some explanation should accompany this tag.
RUSH
(pink)
This tag will be used if the Gate Keeper has agreed to and has committed Alpha Plastic and Design to very strict specifications of the job. The Gate Keeper has authority and control over most aspects of this Job. Some explanation should accompany this tag.
